The Henry herald has a great article about Phyllis in their June 20th issue. It reads, in part, ”
“My goal as state senator is to focus on our veterans. I want to ensure that we are looking out for them as they have often paid huge debts looking out for us.
“Public safety is high on my agenda,” she added. “We need to ensure that we are enabling those that protect us from threats in our community on a day to day basis. To make sure they have the tools to work with and are properly trained.
“Education — to make sure that our children receive the education that they need. We still have too many schools where students are not exceeding to the level that will give them the skills to enter into the workforce nor enter into an adequate college — failing schools keep the cycle of poverty.
“Finally, economic development is what builds and makes strong communities, safe neighborhoods, resourceful schools, job opportunities and allows us to thrive,” Hatcher said. “If we don’t have a good economic development all the others issues will not survive.”
